Augusta Village Shopping Centre, Springfield

The approved Augusta Village is a neighbourhood convenience based development housing fresh food retail, bottle shop and services (hairdresser) along with a variety of food and beverage tenancies. It is noted that the proposed development takes advantage of the site’s three (3) frontages to Augusta Parkway, Leon Capra Drive and Bertilia Street, and enjoys both a northern aspect and proximity to an existing native landscape reserve abutting the property.  The centre was designed to service the greater Springfield area, with the major tenant being IGA.

The proposed development has been carefully designed to ensure the proposed building height and character is complementary to the surrounding area and representative of Council’s vision for the entry to Mooloolaba along Brisbane Road, while also providing a vibrant entry statement to Mooloolaba that will help stimulate economic benefits to the community. The proposal comprises of a total of 89 x one (1) and two (2) bedroom Motel rooms, 52 residential apartments, Office Space, Shops and Restaurant. The proposed unit mix for the Multiple Dwelling Unit component of the development includes 7 x 1 bedroom apartments, 36 x 2 bedroom apartments, 8 x 3 bedroom apartments and 1 x 4 bedroom penthouse.

Our client, Thompson Building Group, is an industry leader in delivering energy efficient, affordable small lot housing on standard freehold lots. This proposal sought to amend a previous development approval to allow for the approved 120m2 lots to be registered on title prior to the construction of the proposed detached dwellings. It was also proposed to make internal and external design changes to improve the livability of the proposed dwellings and overall streetscape appearance.

PresCare, Townsville

Located approximately 10Km south west of the Townsville CBD, this PresCare project involved an Impact Assessable development application for a 120 bed aged care facility and community care centre. The development was in response to an increasing demand for aged care accommodation and associated services within Townsville and surrounding areas. The now completed facility provides aged care accommodation and high level, dementia and respite care. The development includes five (5) levels, over 9,500m2 of floor area, rooftop gardens, cafe and communal facilities throughout, providing a high quality aged care facility. In addition to the valuable aged care services to be provided, the construction and ongoing operations of the proposed facility will provide a large number of employment opportunities and flow-on economic benefits to the region.
